Helicon initiated and co-authored a number of public art and gallery projects as part of our early work. These pursued our overall interest and investigation into how architecture has a dialogue with, and merges with, fine arts and other disciplines. Most design innovation is born in this way.
Conceived in the firm as research, or in collaboration with artists, landscape architects and studios of young architects, these projects have ranged from stage sets to gallery installations and short-term public artworks. They have offered us situations where design is at its most free, and is most capable of compelling dialogue and insight.
